Agave americana ssp protoamericana
A close relative to the more common Agave americana, this sub species has beautiful blue gray leaves, marked with bud imprints. The leaves are very hard and well armoured with strong spines. It likes full sun to partial shade and prefers a well draining mix, even though it will do well in most growing conditions. Very drought tolerant it is beautiful as a focal point in the garden.
