Tecoma stans is a small tree or bush that comes from the American continent. It is a semi deciduous plant that grows relatively fast in almost all types of soil. However, it does better in soil that is well drained.

It is an easy plant to grow and it does better planted it in full sun. It is a relatively drought tolerant plant. It should be pruned in winter in order to promote new growth. This will help the plant flower more profusely as the beautiful yellow, trumpet shaped flowers grow on the fresh shoots.
